Option Sets

Create reusable sets of product options to apply across multiple products without re-entering the same values

Overview

Option Sets let you define a group of product options once — such as available sizes, colors, or materials — and then reuse them across as many products as you like. Instead of manually typing the same values for every product, you create the set once and apply it wherever it's needed.

Option sets list in the admin panel

For example, if you sell jewelry rings, you can create a "Ring Size" option set containing sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. When adding any ring to your catalog, you simply apply that option set rather than entering all the sizes again.

Creating an Option Set

  1. Navigate to eCommerce > Option Sets.
  2. Click Create Option Set.
  3. Enter a Name for the set (e.g., "Ring Size", "T-Shirt Size", "Wood Finish").
  4. Add each option value (e.g., "Small", "Medium", "Large").
  5. Click Create.

Applying an Option Set to a Product

  1. Navigate to eCommerce > Products and open the product you want to edit.
  2. Click the Options tab.
  3. Select the option set you want to apply from the available list.
  4. Click Save.

The options from the set will be presented to customers on the product page when they add the item to their cart.

Editing an Option Set

Changes to an option set are reflected on all products that use it. To edit:

  1. Navigate to eCommerce > Option Sets.
  2. Click on the option set you want to modify.
  3. Add, remove, or rename option values as needed.
  4. Click Save.

Note: Removing an option value from a set will remove it from all products that use the set. Make sure you no longer need the option before deleting it.

When to Use Option Sets vs. Variants

  • Use Option Sets when the option adjusts price or adds a configuration to the base product (e.g., adding engraving, choosing a finish).
  • Use Variants when each combination is a truly distinct product version with its own price, stock, and SKU (e.g., a shirt that comes in Small/Blue and Large/Red as separate inventory items).

See Pricing Methods for more details on variants and how they differ from options.
