Users
User management and access control for website members.
Overview
The Users plugin provides user registration, authentication, and access control for your CMS Max website. Manage site members, organize them into customer groups, and configure user-facing features like profile pages and admin approval workflows.
Getting Started
- Go to Settings > Plugins in the admin panel
- Find Users and click to open the settings page
- Click Save and Install

Plugin Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Manually Approve All Users | When enabled, new user registrations require admin approval before the account becomes active |
| Allow users to customize their profile URL | Lets users set a custom URL slug for their public profile page |
| Enable user profiles | Turns on public-facing user profile pages |
| Admin Notification Email | One or more email addresses that receive a notification whenever a new user registers |
Managing Users
Once the plugin is active, a Users navigation group appears in the admin panel with two sections: Users and Customer Groups.
Users List
The Users list shows all registered site members with their name, email, and registration date. You can filter by status (active or disabled) and by customer group.

Creating or Editing a User
When creating or editing a user, the following fields are available:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| First Name | Required |
| Last Name | Optional |
| Display Name | Shown when the user writes reviews on the website |
| Required, must be a valid email address | |
| Password | Required when creating a new user |
| Customer Group | Assign the user to a customer group (defaults to "Default") |
| Profile URL | Custom URL slug for the user's profile page |
| Active | Whether the user account is enabled |
| Tax Exempt | Marks the user as exempt from sales tax |

Customer Groups
Customer groups let you organize users and assign group-level discounts. Each group has a name and a discount percentage (0-100%) that applies to members of that group.
A Default group is created automatically and cannot be deleted.

Visibility Restrictions
With the Users plugin active, you can restrict pages and other content types to logged-in users only. If you later try to uninstall or deactivate the plugin while any content is set to "Users" visibility, the system will prevent deactivation and display a warning asking you to remove the restriction first.
