Media Library
How to upload, organize, and use images and files throughout your CMS Max website
Overview
The Media Library is where all the files on your website live — images, PDFs, documents, and other uploads. When you add an image to a page or attach a file to content, it comes from here. Keeping your media library organized makes it faster to find what you need when editing content.

Uploading Files
From the Media Library
- Navigate to Template > Media Manager in the sidebar.
- Click Upload (or drag and drop files onto the page).
- Select one or more files from your computer.
- The files upload automatically and appear in the library.

While Editing Content
You can also upload files directly while editing a page or other content:
- In the content editor, click the image or file insert button in the toolbar.
- Choose Upload to add a new file, or browse existing files in the library.
- Select or upload the file, then insert it into your content.
Tip: Uploading files while editing content saves them to the same shared Media Library, so they are available everywhere on your site.
Supported File Types
The Media Library accepts common image, document, and media file types, including:
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, AVIF
- Documents: PDF, Word (DOC/DOCX), Excel (XLS/XLSX), PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX)
- Audio/Video: MP3, MP4, MOV, WebM, and others
Managing Files
Finding a File
Use the search bar at the top of the Media Library to search by file name. You can also scroll through the grid or list view to browse.
Renaming a File
- Click a file in the Media Library.
- Look for an Edit or rename option in the file details panel.
- Update the file name and save.
Tip: Descriptive file names (like
team-photo-2024.jpginstead ofIMG_0042.jpg) make files easier to find later and can help with search engine visibility.
Deleting a File
- Click a file in the Media Library.
- Select Delete from the options.
- Confirm the deletion.
Warning: Deleting a file removes it from all pages where it is used. Before deleting, check whether the file appears in any content.
Best Practices for Images
File Size
Large image files slow down your website. Before uploading, resize images to be no larger than needed:
- For full-width banner images: 1920px wide maximum
- For content images: 1200px wide is usually sufficient
- For thumbnails: 400–600px wide
Use image compression tools (such as TinyPNG or Squoosh) to reduce file size before uploading without reducing visible quality.
Image Format
- Use JPG for photos
- Use PNG for images with transparency
- Use WebP for the best compression (supported by all modern browsers)
- Use SVG for logos and icons
Naming Convention
Name your files clearly before uploading. Use lowercase letters and hyphens instead of spaces (e.g., about-team-2024.jpg, not About Team Photo.jpg).
Using Media in Content
Once a file is in the Media Library, you can insert it into:
- Pages — via the content editor toolbar
- Theme sections — via the header or footer editors
- SEO settings — the Open Graph image for social sharing
- Theme configuration — logo, favicon, and other site images
