Product Groups

#Overview

A product group is a saved list of products that an Ecommerce Product List widget can show, such as a "Featured Products" row on the home page. Go to eCommerce > Product Groups to create or edit one. Groups that aren't Active don't appear in the widget's Product Group dropdown.

#Product Filters

A group's products come from its Product Filters. Each filter includes or excludes products by Products, Categories, Brands (when brands are enabled) or Bottle Sizes (Liquor Max). A product is in the group when it matches any Include filter and no Exclude filter. A group with only Exclude filters shows every product except the excluded ones.

When you pick products one by one, Select opens a window that lists in stock products and the products you already picked. Set its Stock filter to All or Out of Stock to see the rest. Reorder sets the order the widget shows the picked products in.

#Hidden Products

The storefront only lists products that are public, not set to an availability of Hide, and in stock when Hide Out of Stock Products is on in Store Settings. A product you picked can stop showing later, for example when it's set to Draft or sells out. The picked products show an icon and a short reason for each thing that hides them:

To take a hidden product out of the group, click Select, clear its checkbox and click Select at the bottom of the window, then save the group. Products you already picked stay in that list even when they're hidden or deleted, so you can always clear them. A deleted product's chip doesn't link anywhere, because the product no longer has a page.

Products removed for good (rather than moved to the trash) drop out of a filter when you open the group. If that leaves a filter with no products, saving asks you to pick products for it. Pick some or delete the filter, but keep in mind that deleting a group's last Include filter makes it show every product except the excluded ones.

#Other Product Pickers

Other product pickers show the same icons after the product name, for the reasons that apply where those products show:

In the other pickers, a deleted product that's still selected shows 🗑️, and one removed for good shows as Removed product #id 🗑️, so you can remove it.
