Bulk Editing Products

How to edit many products at once, apply one change to a selection, and update fulfillment methods in bulk

Overview

Bulk Edit shows your products in a spreadsheet-style table so you can update many of them without opening each one. You can type changes row by row and save them together, or select a group of products and apply one change to all of them at once.

Opening Bulk Edit

  1. Navigate to eCommerce > Products.
  2. Click Bulk Edit to edit every product, or select products in the list and choose Bulk Edit from the bulk actions to edit only those.
  3. Use Brands, Categories, and Columns to narrow the list and choose which fields appear.

Editing Rows

Type into any cell to change it. Changed cells are underlined, and a bar at the bottom of the page counts the products with unsaved changes. Click Save Changes to save them all, or Discard Changes to undo them.

Selecting Products

Each row has a checkbox on the left.

  • Tick a row to select that product. Your selection is kept when you move between pages.
  • Tick the checkbox in the header to select every product on the current page.
  • Once the whole page is selected, click Select all N matching products to select every product that matches your current filters, including those on other pages.
  • Click Clear selection to start over.

Changing a filter clears your selection, so a change is never applied to products you can no longer see.

Applying One Change to Selected Products

  1. Select the products you want to change.
  2. Click Bulk Edit Selected in the selection bar.
  3. Choose the Field to change.
  4. For prices and stock, choose how to change it under Change.
  5. Enter the value and click Apply to Selected.

The change is saved right away. You don't need to click Save Changes afterwards. Unsaved edits to other fields stay in place while the product remains in the current table.

Warning: When a Brand or Category filter is active, changing that field can remove products from the filtered list. Any unsaved table edits on rows that disappear are discarded, including edits to other fields such as SKU. Click Save Changes before applying the bulk update to keep those edits. The bulk update modal shows a warning when you change a field with an active filter.

Field Options
Price Set to an amount, increase or decrease by an amount, or increase or decrease by a percent.
Sale Change the sale price using the same options as Price, plus Percent off the regular price. Turn Sale Enabled on or off in the same update.
Stock & Inventory Tracking Set, increase, or decrease stock and turn inventory tracking on or off in the same update.
Category, Brand Set the primary category or brand.
Dimensions Set weight, length, width, and height together.

When you decrease prices, products the change would take to $0 or below are skipped, so a product never becomes free by accident. Use Set to if you really want a $0 price. Sale prices and stock stop at zero, and a sale price that works out to $0 is cleared. When you increase or decrease sale prices, products with no sale price are skipped.

Leave any value in a grouped update blank to keep it unchanged. Choose at least one value to apply. Setting a sale price only turns the sale on when you also set Sale Enabled to On.

Changing Fulfillment Methods for Selected Products

  1. Select the products you want to change.
  2. Click Fulfillment Methods in the selection bar.
  3. Under Change, choose one of these options:
    • Add these methods keeps each product's current methods and adds the ones you tick.
    • Remove these methods takes the ticked methods away and keeps the rest.
    • Replace with exactly these methods gives every selected product exactly the methods you tick.
  4. Tick the methods and click Apply to Selected.

The list shows the fulfillment methods enabled in your store settings, including custom methods and methods added by plugins such as DoorDash. Tick at least one. Removing Shipping also clears the product's fixed shipping price, including any pending edit to it. Changes that retain Shipping preserve pending shipping-price edits.

Warning: Customers can't order a product that is left with no fulfillment methods.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why didn't some products change?

The notification shows how many of the selected products changed. A product is only counted when its value actually changes. Products that already have the value you applied are left alone. So are products a price decrease would take to $0 or below, products with no sale price when you increase or decrease sale prices, and products that already have the methods you added.

Can I undo a bulk change?

No. Bulk changes are saved immediately and Discard Changes doesn't reverse them. To change products back, apply the old value to the same selection.
