Checkout Settings

Configure customer-facing options that appear during checkout, such as order notes.

Overview

Checkout settings control what options customers see when they place an order. These settings are found in Store Settings → Features → Checkout.

Enable Order Notes

When this toggle is on, an optional text field appears on the checkout page where customers can leave a note with their order (for example, delivery instructions or special requests).

  • The note is stored on the order as Customer Notes.
  • It appears on the order detail page in the admin panel, in the customer confirmation email, and on the printable order receipt.
  • The note is read-only after the order is placed — it cannot be edited by admins.
  • When the toggle is off, no notes field is shown to customers and new orders will have no customer notes.

To enable:

  1. Go to Store Settings in the admin panel.
  2. Click the Features tab.
  3. Find the Checkout section.
  4. Turn on Enable Order Notes.
  5. Save.
