An overview of CMS Max's eCommerce system and its features for managing your online store

Overview

CMS Max's eCommerce solution gives you everything you need to run a full-featured online store — from managing your product catalog and processing orders to collecting sales tax and recovering abandoned carts. The system is designed so that store administrators can handle day-to-day operations without technical assistance.

What's Included

Product Management

Build and maintain your product catalog with flexible tools for every type of inventory:

  • Product identifiers — Assign GTINs (barcodes) and SKUs to your products so they display correctly on Google Shopping and other marketplaces. See GTINs and SKUs.
  • Product photos — Control how images are displayed and what sizes to upload for the best presentation. See Managing Product Photos.
  • Option Sets — Define reusable sets of options (such as sizes or colors) once and apply them to many products. See Option Sets.
  • Pricing methods — Choose from standard pricing, variants, bulk pricing, tiered pricing, dimension pricing, and more. See Pricing Methods.

Order Management

Track and fulfill customer orders through their complete lifecycle — from the moment a purchase is placed to final delivery. Each fulfillment method (shipping, in-store pickup, curbside pickup, local delivery, and third-party delivery services) has its own set of statuses to keep you and your customers informed. See Managing Orders.

Tax Integration

CMS Max integrates with TaxJar to automatically calculate accurate sales tax at checkout based on the customer's delivery address and your configured tax locations. You can assign tax codes to individual products for items that are taxed differently or are exempt. See Setting Up Sales Tax and Sales Tax.

Search and Customer Experience

  • Product search — Customers can search your store by product name, SKU, brand, category, tags, and more. Results are ranked by relevance so shoppers find what they're looking for quickly. See How Product Search Works.
  • Abandoned cart recovery — Automatically send reminder emails to customers who leave without completing checkout. See Abandoned Cart Recovery.
  • Coupons — Create discount codes customers can apply at checkout. See Coupons.
  • Customer groups — Assign customers to a pricing group (e.g. Gold = 20% off, Wholesale = $10 off) so they automatically get their discount at checkout. See Customer Groups.
  • Tax exempt customers — Mark individual customers as tax-exempt so checkout skips sales tax for them. See Tax-Exempt Customers.

Shipping

Configure which shipping carriers your store uses and understand how USPS, UPS, and FedEx compare for different types of shipments. See Shipping Carriers.

Payment Processing

Accept credit card and ACH bank transfer payments through integrated payment gateways. Configure payment options, discount coupons, and processing fees directly within your store. See Payment Processing.
